Steven Nakata

Steven Nakata is an Instructor in the Culinary Arts of the Pacific program at Kauaʻi Community College. Born and raised in Honolulu, he began his culinary career through an apprenticeship at the Westin Ilikai in 1981 and spent nearly two decades with Westin Hotels & Resorts. His career has taken him throughout the United States, the Caribbean, South America and Europe, where he gained experience in a variety of culinary and hospitality settings. Drawing on decades of professional experience, Chef Nakata shares his industry knowledge, global perspective and passion for culinary arts with students preparing for careers in food service and hospitality.
